Asio LIU (Taiwan), has worked as a journalist for the Taiwan Liberty News and as a cinematographer for ethnographic films for the National Museum of Pre-History, Taiwan. His successful debut, AND SHE WASN'T, co-directed with Awei Liu, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was invited to many international film festivals, such as the Vancouver Film Festival and the Hong Kong Film Festival. It won Best Experimental Film at the Taipei International Film Festival.

Asio Liu has photographed a tremendous number of projects, including QUIET SUMMER, a feature-length film, PORTRAIT TAIWAN-LING HWAI-MIN, a documentary for Discovery Channel. Asio Liu’s cinematography and directing work for Public Television Services (Taiwan) also includes MONUMENT to MOMENTS, EXOTIC EXOTICISM, and KNIVES@SCHOOL.
